Institute for Scientific Operations, Cryogenics & Technical Applications

Welcome to ISOCTA

Figure 1: Aerial view of the ISOCTA campus, circa 2001. Building 6 is visible at the rear of the site, identifiable by its high-bay configuration and adjacent electrical substation.

ISOCTA — the Institute for Scientific Operations, Cryogenics and Technical Applications — is an independent research organisation conducting fundamental and applied work across the physical sciences.

Established in 1988, the Institute has grown from a small photonics laboratory into a multi-disciplinary facility with capabilities spanning optical engineering, electromagnetic systems, plasma physics, cryogenics, high-vacuum technology, and related fields.

This website provides an overview of our research programmes, facilities, and personnel. For specific technical enquiries, please consult the relevant division pages or contact us directly.
